We have various resources to extend the children's spatial and physical development including: bikes climbing apparatus play house bats balls (and grown ups too, for those all important circle games, songs and rhymes).
We have various resources to extend the children's spatial and physical development including bikes, climbing apparatus, a play house, bats, balls and grown ups too, for those all important circle games, songs and rhymes. Our outside area is also used within our curricular planned activities, for example, experimenting with the parachute, or completing an obstacle race! We believe in the positive values of planned outside play, so from September 2007 we areintroducing a scheme which enables the children more freedom to access the outside area during each session. There will be a variety of supervised activities for the children to experience and other types of equipment to explore. We will also have familiar resources from indoors too. It is vital that you child has a coat with a hat or a hood or sun cream and a sun hat (all labelled!) so that they are able to access the outside area whatever the weather! We ask for parents to apply sun-cream to their child before they come to nursery, and we will re-apply their own cream (only), throughout the day (please see the consent forms at the back of the prospectus). If the weather is being particularly unkind to us, then we will all remain indoors and join together in one of the rooms for some singing or have a big music and movement session. We also have a television with a video, which we may use during these times too. OUR GARDEN
Our garden area has recently been refurbished and were now the proud owners of three new giant flowerpots! Were waiting for our crocus bulbs to show and hopefully our wallflower will produce some sweet- smelling flowers within the next month or two. Our aconites are already flowering and the grape hyacinths are growing well. In March were hoping to plant our first onions. Watch this space in the next edition for news of our summer veggies! |
