Parents should not bring their child to nursery if he/she is unwell.
There is a forty-eight hour exclusion period for sickness and
diarrhoea, taken from the last time that the child was ill. This is to
prevent the 'bug' spreading to others.
Parents should inform the nursery of their child's absence before
9.20 a.m.
If a child becomes unwell with in a session, then a member of
staff will not hesitate in contacting the parent for immediate
collection.
INFECTIOUS ILLNESSES
It is essential that the nursery be informed of any infectious
illnesses confirmed by their GP. If medication is prescribed, an
Authorised Medication form will be given for the parent to
complete, stating the type of medication, dosage, times etc.
ASTHMA
If a child suffers from Asthma and requires an in-hailer (as and
when necessary), then a long-term medication form will also
need completing, and a member of the team will inform the
parent if or when it was used.
FIRST AID
All of the team are first aid trained. In the event of a medical
emergency the child will be assessed promptly and appropriate
action will be taken. Parents will be informed immediately however
the Bouncing Beans manager may advise that medical aid is
required before the arrival of the parent. In any incident, a member
of the team completes an Accident Form and a parent's signature will be asked for at the end of the session.
